About
Filipe is an Emmy® award-winning designer and director based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Born and raised in Portugal, Filipe was a web designer for 7 years. In 2009, Filipe changed careers and decided to try and work in television and film. After 2 years learning and building his portfolio, he started working with Digital Kitchen as a remote freelancer, and in 2010 became an independent director and designer. He is currently creative director at Foreign Affairs, a studio he founded in early 2017, while still working as a freelance director and designer.
In 2018, Filipe won an Emmy for Outstanding Main Title Design for Starz’s Counterpart. He’s been featured in many publications (Motionographer, Stash Media, io9, Público) and a usual speaker at design conferences all over the world (OFFF Barcelona and Moscow, DDD Milan and Geneva, FITC Amsterdam, Motion Plus Design Paris, Semipermanent Sydney).
Filipe is a member of the American Television Academy.
